Idealist.org is hiring a talented operations engineer to solve engineering problems that go beyond the browser and help people act on their intentions for the common good.
We're looking for a full stack operations engineer who is fluent in systems, networking, and software development. Not only will you go hands-on with highly available Linux systems delivering half a million page views and emails to a global audience daily, you'll also go deep into the code that powers our release system, LXC provisioning, and Salt-based configuration management. And you will automate and measure all of the things.
We live and breathe open source, and if you work here you'll be using all kinds of OSS projects and contributing patches (but you already do that, so no biggie right?) You're energetic, driven, and inquisitive, and you'll feel right at home on our agile engineering team. If this sounds hip as disco, come join our Portland operations engineering team. Here you can think big while also sweating the details. Your work can have an immediate impact!
