The Minerva Bilingual School
The Minerva Bilingual School is a small private school in the center of the historical city of Gracias, Lempira. With international teachers and a permanent Honduran staff, the school offers instruction in English and Spanish to 330 students ranging from pre-kindergarten to eleventh grade. All Minerva students come from Gracias and the surrounding communities.
The Minerva Experience
Teaching at Minerva is about far more than classroom instruction. At Minerva, you will have the unique cultural experience of working closely with both Honduran and international staff. This offers the opportunity to increase Spanish language skills and be completely immersed in Honduran culture. International teachers at Minerva become active members of Gracias, establish new friendships and contacts, and have the opportunity to become leaders at school and within the community.
Our International Teachers
To be an international teacher at Minerva, we require a bachelor's degree, experience in education, commitment for an entire academic year, and strong oral and written communication skills. We prefer applicants with teaching certification and experience living abroad.
The ideal international teacher at Minerva is hardworking, flexible, creative and self-motivated. As a member of the Minerva staff, you will have the rare opportunity to not only teach, but also to be an integral member of a small, international team committed to providing a life-changing education to the students of Gracias. Because this, we seek individuals who are committed to engaging in our community and igniting positive change at the school and in Gracias.
We would love for you to join us!
