The Science Interpretation department at Pacific Science Center brings our exhibits to life by providing informal science interpretation to our guests. To keep everything running smoothly on a day to day basis Science Interpretation relies on a strong team of Interpretive Operations Leads. "Ops Leads" provide daily support for Science Interpreters, volunteers and Pacific Science Center's guest experience by ensuring smooth daily operations and providing excellent customer service.
Interpretive Operations Leads work as a team to support staff and volunteers in the Science Interpretation Program and Discovery Corps Program to deliver consistent excellent science interpretation and customer service. "Ops Leads" plan position rotations for staff and volunteers and guide their training. They interact directly with guests while filling in at positions, or during emergency or escalated situations. We are currently searching for 3 full time Ops Leads.
This job requires the ability to multi-task in stressful situations and work well with other departments to coordinate daily operations. Must balance guest complaints/issues while maintaining the integrity and mission of Pacific Science Center. This job requires a flexible schedule including one weekend day and occasional evening and on-call work is required. The ideal candidate is a smiling team player, High School diploma, Peer leadership experience. Preferred - Bachelor's degree in science, education, museum studies or related field. Experience in a museum setting, coordinating operations/schedules, leading training and/or educational programs.
