THE PROGRAM
Heartland Health Outreach, the health care arm of Heartland Alliance, is an established leader in providing affordable, high-quality health care to men, women, and children who would otherwise struggle to address basic health needs. Founded as a national Health Care for the Homeless demonstration project in 1985, Heartland Health Outreach's services have since grown significantly. Our services include primary care, mental health, oral health, and substance use treatment and services for low-income, homeless, immigrant, and refugee populations throughout theChicagoregion.
THE POSITION
The Dental Manager will provide both dental hygiene services and supportive programmatic services for the oral health department of Heartland Health Outreach, a multi-discilplinary FQHC specializing in care for those who are homeless or living with HIV. This position requires management of the daily operations and delivery of dental services. The Dental Manager will also function as a dental hygienist providing oral health care services that include cleaning, polishing, and providing preventative instructions and treatments.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience: Minimum Associate's degree (A.A.) from an accredited dental hygiene school required; must possess RDH certification and Active Dental Hygienist License; minimum one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by Heartland Alliance.
Other Skills and Abilities: A minimum of one year hygiene experience and supervisory experience. Previous experience in handling specialty referrals, maintaining dental records, charting and documentations is preferred. Team players with the ability to multitask and have strong communication, computer, and customer service skills are desired.
