Do you have a gift for bringing together job creators and job seekers?
Objective: Greater West Town Project is looking for two experienced Job Development Specialists who make the employment connections for businesses and unemployed adult/youth community members.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a commitment to community service, a BA and 1 year of related experience.
1) Minimum of 1 year of successful workforce development experience; or 3 years of private sector staffing firm experience.
2) Demonstrated ability and confidence for foot canvassing, cold calling and networking with employers is essential.
3) Commitment to community service and previous experience working with low-income populations through prior professional and/ or volunteer experience.
4) Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
5) Basic computer proficiency including use of online database search and record keeping systems. Knowledge of the IL WorkNet System is a plus.
6) Familiarity with non-profit employment and training programs.
7) Ability to conduct client assessment, develop employment plans, follow-up with placements, and measure outcomes for customers.
8) Ability to identify resources, maintain interagency cooperation and conduct referral services.
9) Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful.

Salary and Benefits: This is a full time, permanent, career position. Salary isbased on skills and experience. The agency benefit package includes health, life, disability insurance; retirement plan; bonus program and educational reimbursement.
