JF&CS Employment Opportunities

Position Summary:

This position offers a variety of responsibilities and tasks as a key contributor to the Center on Aging in Community within the JF&CS Senior Services division. The Coordinator will join a team that develops and implements programs and activities promoting well-being and engagement of older adults in the community by working on specific aging in place initiatives on-site in senior housing. In addition, he/she will work closely with the team to develop and deliver training focused on mental health and senior housing.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement engagement projects that involve and benefit seniors in independent housing.
  • Develop workshop(s) that tailor existing mental health training to the needs and circumstances of resident services staff in senior housing.
  • Deliver training/workshops to older adults as well as paraprofessional and professional aging services providers.
  • Network and foster collaborative relationships with other programs and organizations.
  • Attend and participate actively in required meetings.
  • Carry out administrative (tracking and collecting data, reports, program evaluation) functions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Master's in Social Work.
  • Minimum of one year experience in mental health setting (may be field placement).
  • Experience in leading and facilitating groups/workshops.
  • Knowledge/experience in providing services to older adults.
  • Experience in collaborating as a member of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs.
  • Must have valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (excel, word, outlook, power point)
