SCO IS LOOKING FOR A WELL- QUALIFIED PROGRAM AIDE

The Full-Time Program Aide provides administrative support and guidance at his/her specific site location(s); and is responsible for participant and parent outreach and implementing all components of the recruitment and retention plan outlined by the after-school program(s).

MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks.
  • Answer office phone and record messages.
  • Maintain confidential program, participant and staff records online (DYCD, ETO) and on-site.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records online (DYCD, ETO Software) and on-site.
  • Outreach to parents and absentees daily.
  • Motivate and maintain active involvement of program participants through daily outreach.
  • Maintain the general upkeep of space and materials used by the after-school program.
  • Coordinate special events in collaboration with the Education Specialist and Site Director.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings and trainings.
  • Lead staff meetings and trainings in collaboration with the Site Director, Education Specialist and Director of School Based Services.
  • Oversee the after-school program in the absence of the Site Director.
  • Organize and supervise after-school outings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QULIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Education/Degree: Associates Degree or two years of college with 18 credits in Education, Child Development, or a related field).
  • Years of Experience: One year.
  • Associates Degree or two years of college with 18 credits in Education, Child Development, or a related field).
  • Experience with performing a variety of administrative tasks.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet expected timelines.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and reading skills.
  • Experience working in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience with data entry software (DYCD, ETO, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience working in an after-school, school and/or child care setting is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills is a plus.
