Job description

Key Components:

  • Provide leadership, professional expertise and direction in the planning and execution of high quality events and functions of Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead the planning and implementation of the CCUSA Annual Gathering
  • Organize and lead the planning and implementation of the CCUSA Partners in Excellence events
  • Supervise the work of the Conference Planner
  • Facilitate the Convening Functional Team in the planning and implementation of its annual goals.
  • Identify and facilitate discussion and decisions about issues affecting events, and ensure that CCUSA's mission and organizational priorities are reflected in the planning and presentation of events.
  • Coordinate with all departments to create and manage an annual calendar of events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in order to maximize potential and meet event goals and objectives.
  • Prepare pre- and post-event analysis, and assess opportunities and make recommendations for improving service to internal and external constituencies, and implement those improvements as appropriate.
  • Develop and/or maintain highly professional standards and procedures for production of events in keeping with the image and reputation of CCUSA.
  • Convene leadership team in discussion and decision-making about strategies, opportunities, potential conflicts, and other issues related to the successful production of events.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and organizemeetings and organize other CCUSA activities including preparing and coordinating location, documents, briefing materials, meeting notifications, equipment support and all other meeting requirements prior to scheduled meeting
  • Establish and maintain file systems that are readily retrievable
  • Work independently and within teams on special, nonrecurring and/or ongoing projects that are frequently complex in nature and time-sensitive
  • Respond in a timely manner to management requests for information. Conduct research, as required, using the Internet and other sources
  • Use advanced Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Serve on select committees
  • Participate as an active member of the Catholic Charities USA team
  • Embrace CCUSA's values and the behaviors that support the values

Minimum Education:

  • BS/BA degree (or equivalent experience)

Minimum Experience:

  • Three years experience in non-profit or association events management or related fields.

Special Working Conditions:

  • This position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending and repetitive lifting of minimal weight
