Agora Partnerships is seeking a part-time Project Management Intern to help us organize our Impact Investing in Action conference at Georgetown University in May. This position requires a commitment of 10 hours/week and pays $500/month. The position is open immediately and lasts through the end of May, 2013. This position will give you the opportunity to work directly in a leading organization in the impact investing and social enterprise space. Agora alumni have gone on to found their own social enterprises, take leading roles at Agora and/or in other leading organizations in the sector, and to join major international development agencies.
A successful candidate will have experience with conference planning and management. The Project Management Intern must be:
- Very organized
- Detail oriented
- Comfortable delegating tasks and following up to ensure successful completion
- Self-directed and comfortable working independently with only moderate direction
- Flexible and adaptable
Responsibilities include:
- Development and maintenance of a detailed list of tasks needed to ensure successful execution of the conference, delegation of tasks to appropriate team members (including Agora staff as appropriate), and follow-up to ensure tasks are completed appropriately
- Liaising with Georgetown University's support team
- Detailed agenda development
- Logistics research and planning including, but not limited to
- Finding creative approaches to providing affordable lodging for visiting staff and participating entrepreneurs
- Identifying interesting venues for off-campus events
- Organizing catering for meals and coffee breaks
- Determining room requirements and coordinating with Georgetown to ensure rooms are reserved appropriately
- Preparation of conference materials such as agendas, handouts, etc.
- Support for conference-related marketing & communications
- Other conference planning support as needed
