Jewish National Fund (JNF) is a nonprofit dedicated to the land and people of Israel. Created in 1901 as a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere, Jews the world over collected coins in iconic JNF Blue Boxes, purchasing land and planting trees until ultimately, their dream of a Jewish homeland was a reality. Today, JNF continues to give all generations a unique voice in building and ensuring the prosperity of the land of Israel through their generosity and partnership with the people of Israel.
To accomplish this work, JNF seeks to recruit an experienced Fundraiser to be based in our New York City office. The purpose of the Fundraiser is to develop relationships with prospective and current donors to raise money for Jewish National Fund's National Campaign to support projects and programs for Israel. The main expectation for accomplishing this is through solicitations and board development. The Fundraiser will be responsible for fundraising throughout the New York Metro area focusing on community campaign level and young leadership.
The following are key job accountabilities listed in order to achieve JNF's goals:
•Face-to-face meetings for solicitation, cultivation and recognition of donors, both new and prospective of donors up to $1,000.
•Develop and identify community campaign level gifts
•Plan and organize 4-5 "JNF Breakfasts" in the Greater New York Area
oNew York City, Brooklyn, Long Island, Westchester
•Provide professional leadership and management for Boards and/or Committees
•Develop JNFuture donors in all regions of Greater New York which includes Long Island, Westchester, Bergen County and the 5 boroughs
•Increase the number of Root Society Members ($1000+)
•Other duties as assigned by supervisor
•The Campaign Professional should have at least 2-5 years of related experience
•A track record of success and progressive accomplishments in financial resource development and fundraising management
•Strong understanding of donor research, identification, cultivation and solicitation, and stewardship.
•Excellent analytical and organizational skills; strong attention to details and the ability to balance a variety of tasks and deadlines.
•Experience with "moves management", donor research and fundraising databases.
•Creative self-starter with the ability to work both independently as a team player
•Openness, flexibility and decisiveness to lead and inspire internal and external constituencies.
•Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills
•A flexible and creative thinker able to find and create new giving opportunities for programs.
•Self-motivated, outgoing and results oriented; ability and desire to set and reach ambitious goals.
•Ability to respect and maintain donor confidentiality.
•Travel limited to the tri-state area and Israel on occasion.
