The Oshman Family JCC, a full-service Jewish community center co-located on an 8.5-acre campus with the Moldaw Family Senior Residences, seeks a seasoned external relations manager to cultivate and recruit new members, donors, and leaders. As part of an overall development strategy, the external relations manager supports a $50 million campaign over the next five years with a focus on creating, sustaining, and enhancing donor relationships.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for outreach throughout the South Peninsula, the Development Manager will design a program to cultivate, recruit and motivate new members, donors and leaders, and to steward and inspire increased contributions from current donors. The Development Manager solicits gifts, generally up to $10,000. Goals and metrics are defined annually.
Outreach
- Identify, research and engage new prospects. Attend and participate in community-wide events and meetings on- and off-campus to network and seek meaningful connections in the broader Jewish community.
- Create a path toward involvement for new donors.
- Utilize OFJCC donor receptions as outreach tools for donor development/acquisition.
Stewardship/"moves" management
- Implement a "moves management" program to achieve increased contributions from current donors.
- Steward and retain current donors up to $10,000
- Strengthen relationships through attentive donor stewardship, including gift acknowledgment, event attendance, and updates
Departmental liaison (except preschool)
- Work with program directors (except preschool) to identify and solicit new prospects.
- Introduce high-capacity ($10,000+) donors to Director of Agency of Advancement, CEO, and/or campaign leadership for stewardship and solicitation
- With Program Directors, develop and execute departmental fundraising events with an eye toward maximizing returns
- Support the annual Gala and other fundraising events through outreach, solicitation, and logistical support
- Develop a series of parlor meetings/focus groups to engage new prospects in the mission of the OFJCC, the pathways to involvement, and support
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 to 7 years work experience in fundraising or a related field.
- Experience in nonprofit organizations.
- Proven track record in face-to-face solicitations or sales.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Mature judgment, political acumen, tact, and diplomacy in handling sensitive and/or confidential matters.
- Superior interpersonal skills. Outgoing, confident, persuasive communicator.
- Effective presenter.
- Capable representative of the organization.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and other applications.
