Description

SHCC is a New York State-licensed outpatient mental health clinic that specializes in the evidence-based, trauma focused treatment of child and adult survivors of crime and interpersonal violence. SHCC is also a member site of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN), a federal initiative charged with promoting the spread and implementation of evidence-based treatments and elevating the standard of care for traumatized children. Our services are organized round the belief that evidence based practice as a comprehensive approach to service delivery in which staff at every level participates in continuous quality improvement. Our goal continues to be the ongoing integration of the best available empirical research with equally important measures of clinical expertise and understanding of our client's needs and values. As an evidence-based center of excellence we must enhance our ability to track client outcomes and to use this data to improve the quality of our services. The Licensed Quality Improvement Specialist plays a key role in maintaining the clinic's compliance with all mandates (federal, state, city, funder, etc.), collection and reporting of process and outcome data, and the evaluation of services, particularly as we expand into satellites.
