Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley is seeking a Part-Time Volunteer Coordinator to coordinate agency volunteer programs. JFS SV is a growing agency located in a beautiful Los Gatos campus that also houses the Jewish Federation, JCC, and Yavneh Jewish Day School. We are seeking an energized multi-tasker and team player; who enjoys working with people, and who can build and sustain strong programs. Prior experience working with volunteers in a non-profit agency a must.
You will work with staff and volunteers to develop and maintain volunteer projects and programs for families, teens, children, adult and seniors. Your job responsibilities include volunteer recruitment, orientation, assignment, leadership training, and retention. The Volunteer Coordinator works closely with agency staff to fulfill programmatic needs.
You must be outgoing, friendly, positive, and highly organized. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office are required. Salary is commensurate with experience. The position requires work on some Sundays and evenings.
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with volunteer recruitment and training, and program development
- Knowledge of and connection to local Jewish community
- Passion for Jewish community as well as health and human services
- Advanced Social Work/Human Services degree preferred
