Job description

Job Description: The Membership Assistant is responsible for retaining current Lifeline network members and assisting with recruitment of new members. This position requires frequent interaction with Lifeline network centers and leaders in the suicide prevention and crisis center communities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Membership Assistant will be responsible for preparing, organizing, and entering data.
  • The Membership Assistant must have strong computer skills with proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • The Membership Assistant must be detail-oriented and have excellent typing skills, and grammar.
  • Support Lifeline team in database management and maintaining integrity of member data, including organization of member information, stipend invoicing and new center processing.
  • Provide primary accountability for efficient and accurate entry ofmember data.
  • Develop and report membership statistics to staff and centers periodically and as requested.
  • Ensure all membership information displayed on the web site and Network Resource Center is accurate and updated at all times.
  • Serve as a primary customer service representative for members.
  • Develop content for network communications.
  • Provide logistical support for exhibits at conferences and events.
  • Represent through exhibiting at relevant conferences to promote the organization and recruit members.
  • Engage staff to enhance strategies for member recruitment and retention.
  • Assist in development and implementation of strategic communications plan
  • Manage dissemination of member communication materials.
  • Assist staff with marketing campaigns, member outreach and member inquiries as needed.
  • Assist Communications Manager as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Courteous and professional manner and ability to respond quickly to inquiries and requests
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively (verbal and written, online and in social media)
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Effective time management and good organizational and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have an interest in mental health/suicide prevention, some familiarity with the nonprofit sector, and a bachelor's degree.
