Kenmare High School, one of the 4 components of the York Street Project, sponsored by the Sisters of St Joseph of Peace, a non-profit, alternative high school for adult women ages 17 and older, is accepting applications for full-time Mathematics Teacher for the 2013-2014 school years. NJ certification is required.
Applicant must have a strong desire to work in a mission driven organization. Must have experience teaching students that have varied levels of Mathematics experience. Having experience leading a program that purposefully integrates technology and varied teaching approaches for the adult learner is an asset. Must have strong background in general math, geometry, and algebra and be able to adapt various levels using different teaching techniques. The candidate must be able to have students interact with practical math applications in a meaningful and individualized way, as well as developing skills for job readiness. Must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment & communicate effectively with students, teachers & staff.
Requirements: Nonprofit program experience recommended, NJ teaching certification is required, adult teaching experience preferred.
