Share our Strength is hiring an Accounting Manager to help oversee the organization's accounting group on a day-to-day basis and to ensure effective financial reporting and controls across the organization. Reporting to the Controller, the Manager will be an integral part of the financial management team and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, initiating accounting process improvements, and overseeing an effective and streamlined control environment in support of the organization's effectiveness and advancement of the No Kid Hungry mission. The generation of accurate, timely and broad-based financial information and data is a critical input to enable the Finance department to provide insightful analyses, prepare financial projections and annual budgets, and deliver strong decision support to programs and functional departments spanning the entire organization.
The position requires a high performing financial professional capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-growth, collaborative organizational environment. The individual must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and must be able to work effectively across organizational and functional boundaries. The individual must be highly organized and skilled at leading teams, developing and implementing effective processes and being proactive at solving issues. The successful candidate will adapt quickly to change and will champion the advancement of financial reporting tools, systems, and controls that enhance management decision-making. Candidates must be very familiar with GAAP and accounting principles and practices in a nonprofit organization, although persons who have had comparable experiences working with strong businesses or leading national/regional audit firms are encouraged to apply.
