Project Assistant

ICRD is seeking a full-time Project Assistant to support ongoing projects and to work as part of a team supporting specific research, design, administration, and reporting on programs that serve the ICRD Mission: To Prevent and Resolve Identity-Based Conflicts That Exceed the Reach of Traditional Diplomacy by Incorporating Religion as Part of the Solution.

Job Description

  • Provide research support to the Program Coordinator and Program Assistants on specific ICRD projects in the MENA and South Asia regions;
  • Provide administrative and logistical support as necessary where projects are being implemented in the field;
  • Draft project and grant reports for donors;
  • Assist with the development of materials for internal use by ICRD;
  • Maintain a comprehensive and active list of partners and supporters;
  • Provide a range of support for ICRD fundraising activities.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs, Conflict Resolution, Religion or related field with 3 years of relevant experience or Master's Degree in same;
  • Native-level Arabic language skills, both written and spoken;
  • High degree of proficiency in Urdu language strongly preferred;
  • Strong understanding of Islam and current social and political realities of Islamic contexts;
  • Knowledge of concepts and practices of conflict resolution and reducing violent identity conflict;
  • Country-specific knowledge related to some or all of the following: Yemen, Pakistan, Syria and Egypt;
  • Effective at working as part of a team in a diverse and fluid environment;
  • Willingness to be flexible in work requirements and contribute outside of areas of expertise, as necessary;
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills;
  • Commitment to religious tolerance and religious pluralism.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with USG grant mechanisms;
  • Familiarity with current policy and fundraising trends;
  • IT skills, including innovative use of new technologies
  • International field experience.
