Position Summary:
Working in collaboration with other strategic campaigns staff, the assistant will investigate, organize and analyze data and assist with written reports.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide research assistance on targeted organizing drives and contract campaigns including the investigation and analysis of financial conditions, labor relations history, regulatory environment, workplace conditions and other relevant information.
- Assist with written reports and develop written documentation and materials based on research results.
- Assist staff working in member mobilization, coalition building and public relations efforts associated with organizing and first contract negotiations.
- Travel and extended work hours may be required and may include temporary assignments in the field.
Primary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of unions and union organizing.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or experience in economics, policy, finance, law or related degree.
- Knowledge of technical research skills including quantitative and analytic skills and some experience with private and public data sources.
- Knowledge of the health care industry and the related regulatory environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner.
Secondary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in union campaigns, political campaigns, community organizing or recent college graduate, graduate student or professional with skills in industry research, and employment law.
