Fahari Academy Charter School educates, supports, challenges and trains students for success in college. The ideal candidate has some teaching experience and wants to grow in an environment that focuses intently on academics while fostering community through our core values. Every educator at the school must execute the mission of educating, supporting, challenging and training students for success in college in the following manner:
Educate • Assist lead teachers in the creation of challenging lessons • Develop lesson plans based on student ability for small group remediation • Collect, report and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data about students and refine lessons accordingly
Support • Use varied instructional methodology from direct instruction to inquiry-based Socratic questioning as both co-teacher and small group leader • Maintain frequent, proactive parent contact and maintain a parent contact log • Advocate for the needs of the students during weekly subject area, cross-curricular and whole school team meetings
Challenge • Gather, analyze and interpret data in the moment for the benefit of student learning • Research best practices in education and apply them to professional teaching practice • Lead academic enrichment groups for high performing students on Saturdays
Train • Counsel or advise students on educational and vocational objectives • Develop and lead social and recreational activities within the school • Create a rewards system which encourages positive behaviors in students
Qualifications, Skills, Characteristics • Bachelor's degree/ graduate courses in education preferred • Understanding and belief in the mission of the school • Strong analytical, problem-solving and planning skills • Highly organized and detail- oriented • Exceptional ability to develop and maintain productive, collaborative relationships • Ability to create, monitor and maintain systems that enhance classroom efficiency • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to accommodate frequent changes while maintaining goal orientation • Ability to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed.
