The Position
Bridge Boston Charter School, a K1-8th grade public school, seeks a talented, compassionate, committed, second grade teacher to work in a comprehensive, full-service school dedicated to meeting the needs of traditionally underserved children in Boston, MA. Bridge Boston opened in September of 2011 with 72 children in K1 and K2. Next year the school will hold grades K1-2nd with 148 children. The school will expand by a grade each year until it serves 335 students. Bridge Boston Charter School's mission statement says that our students will thrive "in a challenging, joyful, inclusive community that values close partnerships with families and a focus on the whole child. Our students will develop the skills necessary to excel academically in rigorous high schools, reach their individual potentials, and view themselves as creators of their own futures. Through full-service programming, Bridge Boston Charter School works to remove the health and social obstacles that hinder student learning."
The teacher will report to the Principal, will have a class of 18 students, and will be assisted by a full-time intern teacher. Salary will be based on the level of experience and education.
