Position Overview:
The Regional Coordinator will provide technical assistance and support to Network members on the development of strong and successful housing counselling programs, foreclosure programs, homeownership, financial literacy and post purchase programs. S/he will assist in the development of building systems. This position reports to the Chief Program Officer, Director, and a direct report to Program Manager.
Specific Requirements:
- Work closely with Program Manager in developing, designing, and implementing a wide range of administrative procedures and systems necessary to operate various federal, state, and local programs
- Assist with the development of recommendations concerning efficient functioning of processes and file management and other projects under the management of the Program Manager
- Conduct and provide input of major policy and legislative housing issue
- Monitor projects from inception to completion, follow up with staff to track progress and ensure successful outcomes and work products within established deadlines
- Respond to inquiries from affiliates, members, sub-grantees and other interested parties, potential applicants, and provide them with information and/or refer them to the appropriate member of the team for specialized follow-up
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and successfully interact with people at all levels within and outside the organization as well as people of diverse socio-economic backgrounds
- Communicate with clients on loss mitigation, negotiate reinstatements, and research escrow issues and resolve mortgage delinquencies
- Conduct financial analysis of loan file manually and with the use of electronic foreclosure tools
- Conduct frequent off site visits
- Provide in-depth training to clients and develop clear concise action plan for clients in order to meet specific objectives
- Extensive telephone communication with clients, servicers, attorney's and other third parties
- Provide comprehensive counselling both in person and on the telephone; provide referrals when necessary
- Counsel and facilitate homebuyer education, financial fitness and post purchase workshops
- Attend outreach events, assist in marketing HCN and establishing new member alliances
- Conduct comprehensive performance review audits, to monitor member affiliates basic program requirements, financial capacity, staffing capacity, grant management, program practices, services provided, facilities and potential conflict of interest matters
- Prepare detailed concise reports and maintain accurate records
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree with two years experience in housing counseling, or loan underwriter. Mortgage and/or real estate experience helpful. A keen interest in housing policy and legislative issues.
- Successful candidate must have a strong working knowledge of HAMP, NFMC, and HUD programs
- Excellent Communication skills required
- Bilingual preferred
- Willing to travel extensively

- Proficient in MS Word an MS Excel
