Organization Description New Leaders for New Schools is a national non-profit that ensures high academic achievement for every student by attracting and preparing outstanding leaders and supporting the performance of the urban public schools they lead at scale. New Leaders rigorously selects high-quality emerging leaders with strong instructional skills to join its urban principal training and residency program. New Leaders for New Schools prepares its emerging leaders in instructional, operational/managerial, and cultural change/transformational leadership, all with the goal of ensuring that at least 90% of the students in New Leader-led schools achieve academic proficiency and graduate college-ready. Position Description New Leaders for New Schools is seeking an experienced Corporate Development Manager to join its National Development Team. The development manager will have primary responsibility for corporate fundraising, including proposal and report writing and will work closely with the development team and senior program staff. This position reports to the Executive Director of Foundation & Corporate Partnerships. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Working with corporate foundations, corporate giving and corporate community relations departments; • Writing/Preparing high-quality letters of inquiry, corporate foundation grant applications, sponsorship proposals and correspondence including periodic status reports; • Coordinating budgetary and program information for grants, monitoring the proposal review process, and maintaining the proposal and report deadline calendar; • Maintaining and documenting funder contacts and proposal deadlines in the database; • Assisting with programmatic research required for comprehensive grant proposals; • Researching corporate donors and presenting well-reasoned recommendations to build our base of support; and, • Coordination and implementation of corporate cultivation and fundraising events; • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree; • Two to four years of corporate development and/or grant writing experience with proven success in raising funds for nonprofit organizations preferred; • Excellent demonstrated writing and communication skills; • Outstanding organizational skills with strong attention to detail; • Self-starter able to initiate work and meet deadlines with minimum supervision; • Knowledge of grant processes and funding sources and a sound understanding of nonprofit fundraising principles; • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to produce high-quality work in a timely manner. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, familiarity with SalesForce and experience with prospecting research tools a plus; and • Experience with education reform or children's issues a plus.
