Casa Valentina, a nonprofit organization in Miami-Dade County, Florida which provides safe, affordable housing and support services needed by young adults aging out of foster care and at-risk youth in Miami-Dade County to become successful, independent adults, is seeking a Program Coordinator for their Girls and Mother-Baby Program. This position is responsible for oversight and delivery of intensive support service for young women aging out of the foster care system, either with or without babies. Both programs are residential programs, with services coordinated by Casa Valentina and other identified services providers. Persons applying for this position must have experience working with adolescents and/or young adults who have been in the foster care system or are deemed to be at risk. The candidate must possess a Master's Degree in Social Work or Psychology (may substitute with a Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years' work experience in the same field). This is a full-time position, including some evening and weekend hours as well as being on-call for emergencies. The Program Coordinator works with assigned cases and responsibilities include but are not limited to administering all required assessment tests, developing life plans with the residents, providing individual and intensive case management to ensure completion of the life plans, crisis intervention and referrals and follow-up, assistance with completing activities of daily living (e.g., enrolling in school, financial management, accessing health care, etc.).
The candidate is required to have a basic understanding of the behaviors, developmental needs, physical needs, emotional needs of children and youth in the child welfare/foster care system. Salary is commensurate with experience.
