Primary Responsibilities:

  • A commitment to social justice and grassroots organizing;
  • Build relationships with workers one-on-one;
  • Make accurate assessments;
  • Find and manage campaign information;
  • Build strong organizing committees;
  • Communicate campaign messages clearly both verbally and in writing;
  • Use strategic judgment and problem solving skills;
  • Organize and run community meetings and actions;
  • Organize self and materials in order to meet commitments;
  • Work with a diverse team;
  • Work independently within a plan;
  • Work hard and learn new skills

Primary Qualifications:

  • A commitment to social and economic justice and grassroots organizing;
  • 3 years organizing experience (labor and/or community organizing)
  • Leadership experience;
  • An ability to empathize and move others to action;
  • Ability to be a team player and work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment;
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work evenings and weekends when projects demand it;
  • Ability to work with a large and diverse cross-section of members 
and allies;
  • Commitment and passion to social justice
  • A valid driver's license;
  • Fluent in Portuguese is highly desirable
