Description

Founded in 1982, Community Counseling & Mediation (CCM) is an innovative, community-based social service organization providing a wide range of social support, counseling, health, mental health, education and supportive housing services to 15,000 at-risk children, youth and family members in some of the poorest minority populated areas in New York City.

Job Description and Duties are as follows:

Responsible for

Accounts Payable (A/P)

-Process invoices, contracts, and payments
-Resolve vendor payment issues and discrepancies
-Process, analyze, and resolve inconsistencies in Accounts Payable Reports (i.e. summary, aging, etc.)
-Communicate with External and Internal Financial inquiries

Accounts Receivable (A/R)
-Responsible for A/R functions including setting up all electronic payments, deposits, and postings
-Prepare and reconcile monthly A/R and management reports
-Generate monthly billing for reimbursable charges for staffing and expenses to affiliated organizations, resolving discrepancies and collection issues
-Investigate discrepancies in deposit and employer reporting and take appropriate action

Payroll and Human Resource (HR)

-Process Payroll

-Reconcile payroll discrepancy

-Update vacation and sick day schedule

-Update new and current Employee Folders

-Process new employee paperwork

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Assist on Agency & Program Audits
-Budget preparation of historical data, comparisons and analysis
-Forecast and financial statement preparation for President & CEO
-ADP pay expert or similar payroll reporting systems

Qualifications:

-BA or BS in Accounting, Business or equivalent

-0-2 years accounting experience

-Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

-Excellent time management skills

-Previous experience in Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software required

-Collegial and ability to work well with a variety of people
