Payroll Clerk responsible for timely and accurate computation, reconciliation, and entry of employee pay information into Sarah Lawrence College's payroll system (Jenzabar).
Responsible for data entry of employee information, including, but not limited to personal and demographic information, tax deductions, banking and payment information.
Compute, input and reconcile reported hours from weekly and biweekly timesheets for staff and students, in accordance with labor law requirements, and internal pay policies.
Coordinate timely submission of timesheets with departmental supervisors, and contact various department supervisors for missed timesheets, errors and incorrect data input.
Works closely with the Director of Student Employment to ensure contracts and I-9 forms are completed properly.
Responsible for scanning, organizing and filing electronic documents.
Assist in the investigation and resolution of payroll, tax and benefits-related questions.
Assist external auditors as required.
Participate in joint Payroll/Human Resources team meetings, and provide support on special departmental projects.
Greet internal and external parties by phone and in person.
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality concerning employees' personal and pay information.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager
High School diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
Previous experience as administrative support preferred.
Experience working in a payroll-related function preferred, but not required
Exceptional attention to detail required
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize multiple time-sensitive responsibilities required
Ability to maintain confidential information required
Experience working in a payroll-related function preferred
Proven track record of strong data entry experience
