Job Title: Standards for Excellence Program Associate

Department: Standards for Excellence

Reports to: Standards for Excellence Certification Manager

Supervises: N/A

Type of Job: Non-Exempt / Hourly (15 hours per week)

Position Summary

The Standards for Excellence Program Associate serves as the primary support staff person to the Standards for Excellence accreditation/certification program. The Standards for Excellence Program Associate assists in conducting the Maryland and National certification process and generally supporting the efforts of the Standards for Excellence program.

Duties and Responsibilities

General Standards for Excellence Program Support

  • Fulfill information and product requests for Standards for Excellence related materials including starter kits, application tabs, codebooks, etc.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining online content
  • Assist with preparation of training and other Standards for Excellence meetings, conference calls, and replication materials
  • Conduct media searches (printed and online) for Standards for Excellence references
  • Assistance in public relations aspects of the initiative

Certification Process Support

  • Assist with annual reminder/peer review disclosure process (annual letters, annual peer reviewer updates)
  • Coordinate acceptance of certification applications and application updates
  • Coordinate peer reviews, assigning reviewers to applications, scheduling review meetings, and preparing/assembling materials.
  • Proofread correspondence with applicant organizations and certified groups
  • Schedule Ethics Standards Committee and Standards Review Committee meetings
  • Prepare post certification materials, eg. awards letters, licenses, certificates, and PR kits
  • Schedule post-certification interviews
  • Assist with standards awards presentation and public relations briefing
  • Manage the return of application binders
  • Assist with annual invoicing and recertification notices
  • Such additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • BA degree; or Associates degree plus two years of experience in an office setting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical ability, personable and professional phone manner, and good proofreading ability
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Computer competency with significant experience in MS Word, MS Excel, web research, and email)
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
