The Community Programs Manager will oversee the efficient and effective operation of the services provided by the JF&CS Community Programs (which includes Family Support and Collaborative Living Supports). The Program Manager will ensure that adequate and quality supports are provided to families at all times; follow through on all program goals; and ensure that the program operates in accordance with JF&CS agency policies and procedures.
The Program Manager works with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, in community living and family support programs. The Manager is a resource to individuals and their families, JF&CS day and residential staff and other JF&CS employees. The Manager exhibits excellent customer service strategies to make families and clients feel supported, and welcomed into the JF&CS network. This position works cooperatively with collaborating agencies and other community agencies/members to facilitate successful programs and to maximize resources we can offer to clients and families. All supports, guidance, and instruction are to be provided with the utmost respect for each individual's dignity and value as a member of society.
This position is 40 hours per week, with a salary range of $34,000-$35,500, depending on education, experience, and certification. The position requires travelling to different programs, which are located in Newton, Norwood, and Stoughton. The Community Programs Manager must be: flexible in schedule and hours of availability, patient with difficult behavior patterns and/or symptoms of illness, willing to adapt to change and adapt supervisory style to the specific needs of the program, staff and clients, and able to remain calm in crisis situations.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field or at least two years experience working with people with disabilities, preferably in a residential setting
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to pass CORI, SORB at hire, and CPR and Basic First Aid within the first 6 months of employment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office including intermediate skills in Outlook and Word and basic skills in Excel or willingness to develop such skills within 90 days of hire
