We are currently recruiting for the full time position of Membership Specialist (Area 2). This position will be housed in the GSEM North Andover office and is responsible for the achievement of membership goals in an assigned area through community cultivation, needs assessment for services, development and implementation of recruitment delivery, and support of service unit volunteers. This position will report to the Regional Director of Membership.
The Membership Specialist will work in collaboration with the Regional Director to ensure that Girl Scouting is available to all girls. The Membership Specialist will plan, implement and conduct Girl Scout recruitment activities for the increase and retention of girl membership and also plan and implement ways to increase adult memberships. Will assist the cultivation of local business and community organizations to identify funding opportunities, to research community resources, identify possible program and service opportunities, and promote the image of Girl Scouting as a benefit to the community. The Membership Specialist will assist with providing ongoing support to administrative volunteers in assigned area by interpreting council and GSUSA policies, standards, and procedures.
This Membership Specialist position's assigned area will include areas north/northwest of Boston. This position requires travel throughout assigned area and council jurisdiction as needed; a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle are necessary, and candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
All candidates must have the passion and drive to be a part of an organization devoted to the development and support of girls. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal relations skills; the ability to work effectively under pressure; take initiative; be self-directed and work well in a team environment. Two years experience developing and conducting recruitment programs and events preferred. Candidates must have the ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages.
Bilingual skills a plus.
