Rare is seeking a Web Manager to assist the communications team with managing, analyzing and developing a strategy for Rare's online presence. The Web Managert will be the primary technical advisor on web-related issues. This person will be Rare's main digital strategist and project manager for Rare's online properties.
The Web Manager will report to the Director, Communications and will work closely with the communications and marketing team. This position will work with technical and nontechnical members of our organization as well as outside vendors. While primarily focused on [[http:Rare.org|Rare.org]], this person will also be consulted on projects related to Rare's other online properties: [[http:FishForever.org|FishForever.org]] and [[http:SolutionSearch.org|SolutionSearch.org]]. This position will manage vendor selection processes for, and project management of, website enhancements, analyzing the traffic on Rare's web properties, budget management, working with third-party developers on maintenance and support issues, and assisting in any other projects related to Rare's online presence and strategy.
This is not a web developer position, but the Manager, Web Development must have basic knowledge of code and technical vernacular to be able to work with developers and vendors as well as make basic improvements to our web properties.
