Summary:

The Data System Support and Operations Manager will work closely with the Vice President for Work and Family Supports to oversee the EarnBenefits technology developed by Seedco. EarnBenefits streamlines benefit eligibility screenings, application submission, and data reporting. Seedco provides its CBO partners with technical assistance, extensive training, a help desk, and screening tools and resources to operate this software.

Primary job functions:

  • Become an expert user of the Seedco software program, EarnBenefits (EB), serve as a liaison with the software development consultants to continue to enhance and support EB data collection and reporting capacity.
  • Work with Seedco staff and consultants to make required updates to the database as eligibility determination policies change in the states where EB is in use.
  • Work with Seedco staff at headquarters and its program sites to develop and capture outcome measurements and ensure the program sites and their CBO partners are all using the system in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Aggregate data from Seedco and CBO partners to develop comprehensive national, program site and contractual reports for Seedco management, Board of Directors, CBO partners, and funders.
  • In conjunction with IT and the Chief Compliance Officer, ensure access, use, and administration of EB adheres to industry standard best practices for system security and disaster recovery.
  • Provide train-the-trainer instruction as needed to Seedco staff to then train their CBO partners on how to use EB and collect outcomes data in accordance with Seedco standards.
  • Manage site and user licenses, logins, and passwords.
  • Monitor EB help desk activity to identify and address common user challenges.
  • Help to specify enhancements to address user needs and further develop the EB product, including helping to draft system requirements and use cases and participating in testing of enhancements and fixes.
  • Develop and update training materials, including FAQs
  • Ensure implemented back up and security measures are being adhered to, through regular audit and other means, in order to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Insure system and product updates and enhancements are well documented for future reference by both Seedco and subcontractors.
  • Potentially manage 1-2 staff provided help-desk and other services related to the technology.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Supervisory reports: Possibly 1-2

Total staff: Approx. 1-2

Interacts with: Nonprofit partners at the staff and supervisor level.

Education and related work experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience a in related field required, Master's preferred, other specialized computer/software certification is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of data analysis and relevant experience is required.
  • Experience developing system requirements and use cases for software enhancements are also preferred
  • Must possess good working knowledge of on-line training/ meeting tools and technology. Experience developing training materials and providing training and technical assistance to end users desired. Familiarity with nonprofit organizations is a plus.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Must have expert knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to create and execute basic SQL queries is preferred (but will not exclude a candidate without this skill).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
  • Strong time and project management skills also required.
