POSITION TITLE: PEER LEARNING & KNOWLEDGE MANAGER

Locations: Brooklyn, New York

REPORTS TO: VP PROGRAMS

POSITION OVERVIEW

To support GBA's rapid expansion, the Peer Learning and Knowledge Manager works with the VP Programs to design and implement new and existing peer learning activities while maximizing and harvesting the knowledge created through these activities for wider dissemination. The Peer Learning and Knowledge Manager also acts as chief support to VP Programs on the building out of GBA's Data Analytics Platform and the development of a Global Gender Data strategy which includes a significant advocacy component.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Peer Learning & Networking:

  • Project manage practitioner Working Groups on specialist subjects, including coordination with participants and experts, development of knowledge products codifying lessons learned and recommendations for advancing GBA's work in each
  • Project manage GBA's Mentorship program, including promoting the program among members, encouraging applications (mentors and mentees), matching pairs, training, monitoring pair activity, troubleshooting, and evaluating each
  • Support in the organization of GBA's flagship event, its annual summit, including the development of the agenda, content, processes to maximize knowledge sharing and identification and outreach to speakers and other
  • Support the design and implementation of other peer learning events, including All Stars Academy, study tours, workshops, and panels

Research & Knowledge:

  • Project manage the design, collection and analysis of GBA's annual membership satisfaction
  • Support VP Programs in the collection and analysis of GBA's annual Women's Market survey.
  • Support VP Programs in the creation of a global gender data strategy, including coordination of stakeholders and global advocacy

Communications & Advocacy

  • Distill content for input into GBA knowledge products—Case Studies, In Briefs, How To Guide—and into GBA communications—website, newsletter, social

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate/graduate degree and at least 5-­‐7 years of work experience in Development Finance, economic development, banking or finance-­‐related field;
  • Private sector experience a plus;
  • Commitment and interest in small enterprise development and women's economic empowerment;
  • Excellent analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to synthesize content for different audiences;
  • Excellent relationship management skills including a comfort with very senior executives;
  • Excellent organizational and multi-­‐tasking skills, attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Willingness to assist on a variety of projects, performing a range of tasks as needed;
  • Willingness to travel to a range of emerging markets countries;
  • Fluency in English and professional competence in French or Spanish a plus;
  • Ambition to make a major contribution to the field of financial inclusion and to build GBA
