The California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC) is a non-partisan, non-profit statewide organization founded in response to the 1996 passage of federal immigrant and welfare laws that profoundly affected immigrants. CIPC helps to develop and support pro-immigrant public policy that aims at improving the quality of life for all Californians. CIPC also provides technical assistance, training and education on immigrant issues. Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Los Angeles (Advancing Justice | LA), fiscally sponsors CIPC.
Position Summary
CIPC is seeking a full-time Bay Area Organizer committed to immigrant rights. The Organizer's primary responsibility will be to work in collaboration with a robust network of immigrant-serving organizations, base-building community groups and pro-immigrant advocates to advance CIPC's legislative priorities and support local pro-immigrant policies. The position will cover the nine-county Bay Area, including San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, and other select regions of Northern California. As part of CIPC's Engagement Unit, the Organizer will also provide support to the organization's broader organizing and strategic planning development. The Organizer will be based in CIPC's Oakland office and will report to CIPC's Los Angeles-based Lead Organizer. Significant travel will be required.
