At United Cerebral Palsy, we are seeking two qualified Program Coordinators. One position is available in our Staten Island location while the other is located in our upper Manhattan location. Our Program Coordinators are responsible for coordinating, planning and directing activities within an assigned team. The must have supervisory experience in order to supervise Habilitation Assistants and Habilitation Specialists while providing direction in the development of individual treatment plans, curriculum, lesson plans, goals and activities.
Major Job Responsibilities:
o Supervises classroom activities in order to ensure that services are being implemented as designed by Treatment Team and appropriately meet individual's needs
o Interviews, hires, orients, trains, supervises, evaluates work of, disciplines etc. the subordinate staff
o Coordinates implementation of training programs in classrooms
o Ensures that appropriate individualized treatment plans are developed and adequate progress notes are maintained on all participants
o Monitors quality of treatment plan documentation and clinical record keeping in order to ensure compliance with regulations and policies
o Prepares various reports for the Director
o Oversees requisition of supplies and equipment
o Selects and utilizes educational materials
o Maintains liaison with consumers, advocates etc.
o Attends scheduled staff meetings, develops and implements staff training programs and helps develop and implement policies and procedures for assigned areas
o Keeps abreast of changes in the fields and performs other related duties as requested
To Qualify you must have the following:
o Bachelor's Degree in a human services field/sciences
o Three years of related experience is preferred with two years of supervisory experience required
o Experience working the the developmentally disabled
o Must have a valid NYS Driver's License
o Strong communication skills with ability to read, speak, write and understand English
o Good organizational and teaching skills with ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures
o Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, employees, residents and their families
