Join our exceptional, dedicated education team! This is a full-time position that can be based at our Anchorage or Fairbanks office, depending on employee preference.

Job Summary:

The Education Manager is responsible for the effective outreach and delivery of regional education programs and is responsible for oversight and supervision of the Teen Outreach Program (TOP) and the Teen Council program. This position supports TOP program fidelity and the provision of highly skilled TOP facilitators at PPGNW. In addition, this position supports strategies to support overall goals of the PPGNW education department, ultimately ensuring successful implementation and provision of accurate sexual health information in a safe, non-judgmental manner, as aligned with the department's mission.

Essential Functions:

Coordinates TOP program implementation; provides direct support to TOP facilitators; promotes TOP to community stakeholders; supports program evaluation process; leads education initiatives as decided by the education leadership team; oversees family programs and develops community education strategy; contributes to the team effort of the education department; and contributes to the team effort of the agency, thereby ensuring quality care and services for clients.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate implementation of TOP and Teen Council program components
  • Recruit, interview, and hire TOP facilitators and Community Educators
  • Provide appropriate observation, staff coaching, and support to ensure implementation of the program with fidelity
  • Provide direct support to TOP facilitators and Community Educators, in the form of problem-solving, and referrals for issues related to working with youth in crisis, working with parents and school personnel, professional boundaries management, and self care
  • Achieve financial objectives and assists with education budget as needed, approving educational requests and service learning requests
  • Promote TOP and other education programs to Community Stakeholders (i.e., TOP partners, parents, businesses, community organizations)
  • Effectively communicate the goals of the program to potential funders and adult volunteers
  • Collaborate with the TOP Training and Fidelity Manager to identify staff training needs and provide training as needed
  • Collaborate with Service Learning Coordinator to provide high quality community based service-learning opportunities
  • Develop educational strategy for Alaska in partnership with Director of Education and Organizational Effectiveness
  • Support evaluation process and work directly with Director of Education and Organizational Effectiveness to ensure completion of TOP evaluation
  • Maintains knowledge of education technologies by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing networks.
  • Participates in department and agency initiatives as appropriate

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises the TOP Facilitators and Community Educators at Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest in Alaska and supports community partner relationships, in particular school and district relationships as well as community co-facilitator relationships of TOP Facilitators. Responsibilitiesinclude interviewing, hiring, and supporting TOP facilitators and Community Educators; planning, assigning, anddirecting work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education:

BA/BS in related field required

Experience:

Minimum two years management/supervision experience

Five years experience in education and training required

Travel:

Ability to travel up to 25% both in-state and nationally.

Must have reliable transportation.
