Ashoka seeks a candidate to support our efforts to transform Ashoka's global web platform. The selected candidate will work with Ashoka staff and others around the world to collaboratively envision and then drive development and alignment of integrated web properties with a focus on enabling a rich, user-centric experience while ensuring that Ashoka's global web infrastructure is secure, optimized, and able to rapidly grow to meet the needs of our dynamic organization. The Web Platform Manager will also be responsible for expanding key functionality across the platform, ensuring integration between Ashoka's various properties, and facilitating the general upkeep of the sites. This is an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial, creative, and technically adept individual to make a significant impact on transforming how Ashoka leverages its web properties to change the world.
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with Ashoka staff and others to ideate, define, and drive web solution development.
- Integrate solutions across Ashoka's properties including leveraging Salesforce.
- Develop and manage vendor relationships to implement solutions and ensure service levels are met.
- Project manage solution development and provide high levels of visibility into project execution.
- Design, implement, and codify processes for managing maintenance and ongoing growth of Ashoka's global web platforms including administration, securitization, and optimization of servers, CMS, and DB.
- Other related activities as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working collaboratively with clients across web development process.
- Experience with Drupal and LAMP environments.
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and JavaScript/JQuery highly valued.
- Experience managing and working with a distributed team.
- Experience with user interface and/or user experience design.
- Familiarity with mobile web concepts.
- Familiarity with web and social media statistics, analytics, and impact measurement valued.
- Interest in trends and developments within the technology/web industry and a passion for the potential of technology tools to transform the work of the citizen/nonprofit sector.
- Evidence of entrepreneurial initiative and commitment to innovation for the public good.
- Demonstrated creativity in vision and problem solving with strong ethical fiber.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
