POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mental Health Worker (MHW) serves as the primary case manager to the children and families participating in the program. They work in collaboration with their teammate, the Mental Health Professional, and coordinate/provide community based case management and mental health support services to provide coordinated services.
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
- Graduate degree in psychology, counseling, family therapy, social work, nursing, theology with an emphasis in pastoral counseling, or rehabilitation counseling with a minimum of 12 graduate credit hours in therapy and/or counseling, but lacking the requisite experience to qualify as a mental health professional. or
- Bachelor's degree with at least 12 credit hours in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, nursing, education, rehabilitation counseling, or theology a minimum of one (1) year of experience in child and adolescent mental health services. or
- Licensed Registered Nurse with at least one (1) year of experience in child and adolescent mental health service, and is enrolled in or pursuing certification in the Departmentally sponsored Family Based Mental Health Services training program.
- Valid driver's license required with access to reliable vehicle with current registration and evidence of current automotive insurance coverage .
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 1 year experience providing case management services in community settings; experience implementing interventions across multiple systems/settings (i.e. family, peer, school, community, other providers, DHS, Juvenile Probation, etc.).
