Benefits Data Trust, a rapidly growing, national not-for-profit organization, is committed to transforming how people in need access public benefits. We are looking for qualified individuals to serve as Benefits Outreach Specialists (BOS). Ideal candidates are results-driven, articulate, energetic, and possess a willingness to assist the populations we serve. The primary responsibility of BOS is to clearly provide public benefit education and application assistance to low-income people over the telephone through a mix of inbound and outbound calls in a contact center environment. BOS also spend a portion of their time handling paperwork and entering data into a variety of systems.
Individuals with a strong interest in professional development and growing within the organization should apply.
•Outstanding communication skills (listening, needs assessment, empathy)
•Superb attention to detail and critical thinking skills
•Strong computer skills including MS Office
•Ability to work as a positive team member in a productive environment
•Prior non-profit/social service and/or call center experience preferred
•High School diploma required, college degree preferred
•Bilingual a plus (especially Spanish fluency)
Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.
