Job Description

Kiva's Partner Product team is focused on scaling Kiva's platform by developing great software for our Field Partners and our staff. This role is focused on continuously improving the tools our Field Partners use to interact with Kiva (posting loan profiles, reporting repayments, etc.). This Product Manager has a unique opportunity to shape the user experience of our Field Partners and help create products for our partners and help Kiva through its next stage of growth.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other Product Managers and internal stakeholders to drive product roadmap
  • Work closely with the engineers and designers to architect and develop the best technical design approach as they release features in an Agile, 2 week iteration process

○ Deliver user stories and detailed product requirements documents to articulate desired product features and functionality to technical teams

○ As needed, produce wireframes/mockups of front-end features including web-based user interfaces

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative user research, with field partners and staff
  • Execute against project plan and delivery commitments
  • Oversee QA efforts and work with stakeholders to ensure smooth roll-out of new features
  • Define, measure and analyze product and user metrics, to further iterate based on user behavior
  • Reports to Senior Product Manager, Partner Product, while collaborating closely with Engineering and internal stakeholders

Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about Kiva and its long-term potential
  • 2-4 years experience in software product management
    • Microfinance or international development experience is a strong plus
  • Strong execution orientation. Proven ability to deliver quality projects that satisfy and delight customers
  • Superior communication and writing skills
  • A natural leader with the ability to cultivate a vision and motivate others to help achieve it
  • Hands-on: able to pitch in and implement changes when appropriate
  • A proven collaborator. You are admired by your colleagues for your ability to balance the needs of multiple and varied customers.
  • Experience in an Agile software development environment, with rapid feedback loops and quick release cycles
  • Strong plus - accounting or technical background
  • Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty
  • Passion for philanthropy, international development, and developing market technologies
