Operations Assistant

The School

Bridge Boston Charter School is a comprehensive, full-service public school that opened in the fall of 2011 with K1 and K2 students. We now have 144 children enrolled in K1, K2, first, and second grades for the 2013-2014 school year, and will expand by a grade each year until we serve 335 students in grades K1-8. Bridge Boston Charter School's mission is to help our students thrive in a challenging, joyful, inclusive public school community that values close partnerships with families and a focus on the whole child. Our students will develop the skills necessary to excel academically in rigorous high schools, reach their individual potentials, and view themselves as creators of their own futures. Through full-service programming, Bridge Boston Charter School works to remove the health and social obstacles that hinder student learning.

The Position

The Operations Assistant is a year-round position that will report to the Operations Manager and will be an important support to the administrative team. The Operations Assistant must have an interest in working with and around children. As an Operations Assistant you will be responsible for duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or other School leaders, and your duties will evolve as the position grows. These duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Direct phone and personal contact with families and students around a range of issues in a professional, respectful and timely manner
  • Support for all aspects of student enrollment
  • Support for all aspects of external relations including vendors, volunteers, donors, service providers, and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
  • Financial record keeping
  • Production and dissemination of school communications
  • Support for transportation system, including the supervision of bus monitors and implementation of safety protocols
  • Management of meal delivery and distribution, in concert with the Operations Manager, ensuring smooth operation of the school's nutrition program. Applicant should be able to do some minor lifting for these duties.
  • Support staff in basic technological troubleshooting or inquiries
  • Accurate and efficient data entry in multiple areas, including attendance
  • Support for office and supply management

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Experience in office management
  • Excellent computer skills including fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in a second language is desirable but not required.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and responsibility
  • The ability to problem-solve, a positive attitude, and a sense of humor are required!

Salary will be $28,000 to $34,000 plus benefits, depending on qualifications and experience.
