The WCC, established in 1915, is a non-profit, non-partisan, multi-issue activist organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of all New Yorkers. The WCC works to shape public policy in order to promote responsive government through issue analysis, education, advocacy and civic participation.
Under supervision of the Executive Director and in accordance with WCC policies and procedures, the Membership and Finance Coordinator will provide support for WCC projects and activities as follows:
Membership and Finance:
- Log and process incoming mail and enter incoming funds from members and non-members in donor database
- Generate membership-related tasks (welcome, renewal, expiration and delinquencies), prospective letters and acknowledgment letters for all donations
- Serve as primary liaison for "Under 35" Membership and develop activities with Membership Committee
- Prepare membership and development reports for monthly meetings, annual audit and as requested.
- Prepare and distribute annually updated Membership Roster to Board of Directors
- Process credit card and PayPal transfers
- Prepare monthly reports of funds received from multiple sources (PayPal, checks, foundations, stock transfers, membership fees, credit cards)
- Assist bookkeeper with reconciliation of donor database and Quickbooks
IT Functions:
- Maintain email mailing lists for member and non-program-related contacts; generate all address labels for monthly mailings
- Update website re content and system upgrades within Wordpress
- Prepare email announcements for members and others, working in conjunction with the Executive Director
- Maintain and update records in database; develop/enter codes to meet WCC needs; utilize available resources to learn and expand reporting capabilities of database
- Work with IT consultant regarding hardware and software, maintaining office equipment
- In conjunction with Executive Director, daily input/update of WCC and/or relevant information on social media, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn
Administrative Activities:
- Provide general office support with other staff (answering phones, taking messages, filing, and greeting members/guests)
- Work with staff members and interns on specific projects; train designated staff in office operations/procedures
- Manage postage account and ensure adequate funding with Bookkeeper
- Be trained to serve as backup for Volunteer Coordinator in her/his administrative and communications functions
- Share responsibilities of office cleaning (bundling garbage/recycling meeting room and kitchen maintenance) with rest of staff
Public Programs:
- Assist with preparations for staff public program meetings/events, including ordering supplies, food and/or equipment; greet attendees
- Supervise audio-visual activities during Public Programs, including taking photographs, recording programs, and editing relevant material for Facebook and YouTube channel
Time and Salary:
Days/ Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm or 9:30am–6:00pm, as mutually agreed
Salary: $38,000 plus comprehensive benefits, including medical
Qualifications / Skills:
- Excellent computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Quickbooks, Neon, Raiser's Edge or similar donor management or database system
- Deadline and detail-oriented a must
- Highly developed oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding member / donor information
- College graduate strongly preferred
