Part Time Communications Coordinator
Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church is a multi-cultural congregation within the PC(USA) with about 250 members. The church's vision is "Living into being a community of friends and followers of Jesus Christ who belong, grow and serve." BHPC seeks someone for 10-15 hours to manage weekly communications such as the bulletin and PowerPoint presentations as well as build our web and social media presence. The position has room for growth and some flexibility in days.
Responsibilities:
- Layout, page design, editing and copy writing for Sunday bulletin as well as Power Point Presentation
- Update BHPC website as needed with text and multimedia content (currently hosted in Squarespace.)
- Edit print and web content for grammar, spelling and style
- Create and post content to social media channels
- Assist with other communications needs such as mass e-email communication
- Develop and maintain tools and systems to help manage calendar of events and activities
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Outgoing, motivated self-starter with a passion for Christian service
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, attentive to detail and able to edit and proofread closely
- Computer knowledge required: MS Office (including PowerPoint), rmail marketing/Constant Contact, social media savvy, some digital photo editing
- Proficiency in Adobe- InDesign and or a program like Publisher

- Demonstrates the ability to communicate with church members and staff clearly and concisely and with empathy and professionalism.
