Summary:

The Collections Coordinator for the Lending Operations Team is responsible for providing assistance with the day-to-day functions of the Collections Department. This includes but is not limited to, the following: communicating with delinquent borrowers, creating and generating reports, performing site visits, and other collections tasks as directed by the Collections Manager.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Prepare aging and delinquency reports in accordance with established SFS guidelines.
  • Maintain frequent verbal and written communication with delinquent borrowers.
  • Conduct weekly collection meetings with Portfolio Manager.
  • Conduct bi-weekly collection meetings with off-site officers to coordinate calls and site visits.
  • Analyze credit reports and financial statements.
  • Prepare workout recommendations for businesses experiencing financial problems.
  • Mail monthly billing statements and past due notices.
  • Compose and mail Notice of Default letters.
  • Act as liaison between SFS and external collection agency and/or outside counsel.
  • Make site visits as needed to New York area businesses.

Qualifications –

Education and Related Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience with Salesforce and Nortridge preferred but will train candidates strong in other areas

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong writing, analytical, interpersonal, time-management and communications skills required
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and have the ability to work effectively under pressure in both a team setting and individually
  • Excellent computer skills; must be proficient in Windows-based software with strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet all required deadlines

This job is performed under general office conditions, and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.
