The Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA) is a non-profit membership organization with a mission to create healthy, sustainable communities by making bicycling safe, convenient, and accessible in Oregon.
The BTA is looking to fill an exciting and vital position within our organization: Development Director. This entrepreneurial position is the leader of our development team and is responsible for building a multi-faceted approach to raising income to support our programs and advocacy work. We are looking for someone who will build a dynamic and productive development program that will help our organization grow and who can bring the leadership to diversify and expand our revenue stream. The primary responsibilities of the Development Director are to expand our foundation grants and corporate gifts, increase our individual donors, and lead an effective team that will grow our membership as well as activate our members as donors. We need someone who brings structure, systems, creativity, positive energy and a track record of fundraising to the job.
Requisite Experience • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of development experience including contact relationship management, major donor cultivation, networking, grant writing, direct mail communications, online fundraising, and event management. Volunteer experience should be noted and may count toward work experience, but must have direct relationship to accountabilities. • CRM Software experience. We strongly prefer SalesForce experience. • Professional development in fundraising, marketing, and event management. • Passion for bicycle transportation and/or an interest in creating livable, healthy and sustainable communities.
Other information: The Development Director must be able to adapt to a flexible schedule that accommodates early morning meetings that begin at 7:30 twice a month and both evening and weekend events. We are open to a proposed flexible schedule for highly qualified candidates that are interested in working 75% to 80% FTE.
