General Description: The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is a national non-profit organization that works to turn environmental values into national priorities. To secure the environmental future of our planet, LCV advocates for sound environmental policies, elects pro-environment candidates who will adopt and implement such policies, and provides state LCVs with the resources and tools to accomplish and sustain their mission.
The League of Conservation Voters is seeking an experienced Research and List Management Director to oversee our growing Research and List Management program. The Research and List Management Director works with the Research and List Management Coordinator to manage and develop a portfolio of current, lapsed and prospective donors, expanding the Major Gifts program of LCV and its affiliated entities.
The Research and List Management Director is a senior member of our talented and accomplished Development Division. This position is based in Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of a top-notch Research and List Management program to support LCV's Major Gifts Team
- Manage Research and List Management Coordinator.
- Qualify high level major donor prospects and take responsibility for the accuracy of the major donor portfolios and outreach lists used by LCV's president and the Major Gifts Team.
- Manage the ongoing development of the prospect and donor base.
- Work with the Major Gifts Team and Director of Foundation Relations to establish cultivation and solicitation strategies for current and prospective major donors, as well as the creation of a fundraising pipeline.
- Conceptualize and expand prospecting methodologies to support LCV's fundraising goals.
- Develop reports, stats tracking, and performance analysis with the Director of Database Management, as well as provide solutions to enhance the accessibility and layout of information within the donor database.
- Maintain an overall knowledge of top donors and prospects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- College degree required, with 5-7 years of experience in a robust research program.
- Extensive knowledge of research tools and techniques, including WealthEngine, FoundationSearch, LexisNexis, and political giving databases. Familiarity with the Salesforce platform a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and an advanced level of proficiency in Excel.
- Adept at maintaining systems for easy access to information and data.
- Highly organized with a thorough attention to detail.
- Critical thinking skills coupled with an acute understanding of wealth indicators.
- Extremely motivated by goals to produce excellent results and exceed expectations.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills and an eagerness for continued learning.
- Issue advocacy, political experience, and/or major gifts fundraising experience are strongly preferred.
