Job description

The Trust for Public Land, a national non-profit dedicated to conserving land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens and other natural places, will be opening an office in Dallas. To lead our efforts in North Texas (Dallas, Arlington, Fort Worth and surrounding communities), we are recruiting for a North Texas Area Director.

This position will open an office in Dallas, develop park and conservation programs, raise funds for the programs and oversee their implementation. The person will be responsible for working with an established Advisory Board, recruiting new members, building relationships with local public officials and partners, recruiting additional staff, and act as a representative of TPL.

The position requires a bachelor's degree and experience in the following: 5-8 years of urban park, garden or trail development; philanthropy; working with volunteer boards; public finance measures and federal funding; as a manager; and familiarity with the North Texas geographic area. Experience in a start-up situation preferred.
