The National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC), home of McGruff the Crime Dog ®, is a national non-profit whose primary mission is to be the nation's leader in helping people keep themselves, their families, and their communities safe from crime. NCPC's strategic plan is centered on four goals: protect children and youth; partner with government and law enforcement to prevent crime; promote crime prevention and personal safety basics; and respond to emerging crime trends. The Training Department has an immediate need for an administrative assistant to assist with several projects.
National Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) – This grant addresses the nationwide gap in education opportunities for new law enforcement officers and crime prevention practitioners, which was a result of local department cuts in training budgets. NCPC provides training for this audience in basic and advanced crime prevention topics.
Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) - NCPC partners with the Bureau of Justice Assistance to provide gang and gun violence prevention training and technical assistance to local law enforcement and other justice agencies.
Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) Mortgage Fraud Campaign – This work entails the development of materials and the provision of trainings and policies in the area of mortgage fraud. NCPC works with victim service providers, attorneys, and victim advocates who work with victims of mortgage fraud. The goal is to ensure that this audience has the information and tools they need to successfully lead victims on their road to recovery.
