Job Description: New Routes Adolescents Program Coordinator
Supervisor: Centro Hispano - Deputy Director
Full Time Equivalent: Full Time
Work Hours: Approximately 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Mondays thru Fridays with 1 hour unpaid for lunch daily. Saturdays as program requires. Flexibility needed for team meetings, special projects, agency events, parent nights, etc.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The objective of the New Routes Adolescents Program Coordinator is to serve Latino youth through Centro Hispano's education programs. The New Routes Adolescents Program is nationally recognized as a model program in meeting the needs of at-risk Latino youth. The program coordinator plays a vital role in assuring that the program meets its goals and serves the community effectively. This position description is subject to change at any time as programmatic and operational needs dictate.
dUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
50% ComVida
- Facilitate sessions for ComVida program.
- Recruit youth participants for at least four ComVida sessions each year.
- Develop ComVida program curriculum and coordinate related activities.
- Supervise and organize community service opportunities for ComVida youth who are required to perform mandatory community service.
- Ensure that all service and outcome reports are completed accurately and on time while monitoring project progress to ensure goals and outcomes are being met.
- Work with community partners including school district staff, non-profit agencies, and funding partners to ensure that our programs are functioning collaboratively, safely, and efficiently.
- Develop team of volunteers to assist with ComVida.
25% Proyecto Lider
- Recruit youth participants for program.
- Plan youth development activities for weekly Proyecto Lider meetings.
- Organize community service activities for Proyecto Lider youth.
- Ensure safety and appropriateness of all group activities.
15% Outreach to Schools
- Outreach to Dane County high schools to support Latino youth at risk for suspension and/or expulsion.
- Work closely with school district personnel and other workers based in schools to provide a strong connection between the program and the districts.
- Ensure that school social workers, EROs and other staff are aware of New Routes Adolescents Program and services offered.
10% Other Duties
- Ensure that all service and outcome reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Represent agency at community events as assigned.
- Assist administrative staff in grant applications related to youth.
- Coordinate program related outreach as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or Associates degree + 2 years work experience in areas of social work, community organizing, youth development, education and/or volunteer coordination.
- Must be fluent in Spanish and English and able to pass written and verbal tests.
- Strong commitment to the mission of Centro Hispano of Dane County and to working with youth and families from diverse racial/cultural populations.
- Must pass criminal background check.
