New York Civil Liberties Union 2014 Fellowship Sponsorship

The New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) is one of the nation's foremost defenders of civil liberties and civil rights. Founded in 1951 as the New York affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union, the NYCLU is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization with eight offices and 50,000 supporters statewide.

The New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU), the New York state affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), seeks members of the class of 2014, current judicial law clerks, or other fellowship applicants or recipients to sponsor for fellowships. For years, we have hosted fellows funded by Skadden, EJW, Soros, and other organizations and schools, who have participated in litigation, lobbying, and advocacy on a wide range of issues.

The NYCLU is one of the nation's foremost defenders of civil liberties and civil rights. Founded in 1951 as the New York affiliate of the ACLU, the NYCLU is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization with eight offices and approximately 50,000 members statewide. The NYCLU defends the rights and freedoms embodied in the state and federal constitutions. We focus on the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to privacy, police misconduct, reproductive rights, disability rights, youth and student rights, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights, voting rights, and the protections afforded to those who come into contact with the criminal justice system. The NYCLU engages in various forms of advocacy, including litigation and public education.
