This is a great opportunity to join the medical staff of a progressive Federally Qualified Health Center. The medical staff includes family physicians, pediatricians, contract psychiatrists, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. The teams include medical assistants, pharmacists, behavioral health providers, health coaches and benefits counselors.
At CCHS you will have be able to care for all community members without regard for the ability to pay. You will be able to work with administrators to shape your practice to your professional interests and to meet patient needs. You may or may not participate in perinatal care including deliveries, you may or may not participate in hospital care; and you may work part-time or full time. You will have the opportunity to share the care planning of complex patients with colleagues at weekly team huddles and participate in operations and systems planning and problem solving at regular staff meetings and workgroup sessions.
CCHS is the sponsoring agency for the Area Health Education Center and, as such, provides clinical preceptorships for health profession students (medical, nursing, psychology and pharmacy) and organizes regional continuing education functions.
The salary and benefits are very competitive. Malpractice coverage is provided and is unlimited -- provided through the Federal Tort Claims Act. Coverage is occurrence-based so there is no tail coverage upon leaving employment. CCHS will provide $10,000 in loan repayment per year for three years. The loan repayments may be may be matched by a state loan repayment program for which the state determines eligibility.
This health centers are in the hills of southern West Virginia, within easy reach of many outdoor adventure opportunities including hiking, rock climbing, camping, white water rafting and boating, skiing, fishing and hunting. Charleston West Virginia offers a rich array of cultural programs and events throughout the year including live theater and live music such as the internationally acclaimed Mountain Stage.
